May 2017 // Jahic / Roethlisberger and special guest artist Christian Andersson

Christian Andersson born in Stockholm, currently lives and works in Malmö, Sweden

In 2017 we invited swedish artist Christian Andersson to interact with our work for the exhibition at M54 in Basel.

With his ambition of rather exploring multiple viewpoints simultaneously than presenting a singular approach to reality, Christian Andersson incorporates fiction into the real world within his installations, videos and drawings. As a point of departure in art and architectural history, popular culture, literature, and the canon of western civilization, Andersson offers a space for meandering thoughts, and explores the boundaries between the plausible and implausible, juxtaposing emotion and reason.

He recently did a solo exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Thun (2015), as well as the Palais de Tokyo, Paris, and Moderna Museet, Malmö (both 2011). His work lately has been on view in group exhibitions at Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg, the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam, the Living Art Museum in Reykjavik and FRAC Champagne Ardenne (2016). He is currently preparing a solo exhibition at Museum CIAJG, Guimaraes, Portugal (2018).
